Ich suche das Licht, egal wo ich bin. In der Stadt, im Wald, im Haus.
Wenn man einmal damit anfängt, das Licht zu suchen und zu sehen, sieht man es plötzlich überall. Lichtkleckse auf der Wand und dem Parkett, ein leuchtender Rand am Kaffeebecher, glühende Rosenblätter auf der Verkehrsinsel, goldenes Eis auf einem Teich, rotes Farnblatt im Gegenlicht. Je mehr man übt, es zu sehen, desto mehr davon sieht man, und es macht die Tage schöner und voller. Ich wünsche mir, dass die Betrachter meiner Bilder diese Momente spüren können und anschließend vielleicht selbst hungrig danach werden, sie um sich herum zu entdecken.
I seek the light, no matter where I am — in the city, in the forest, or at home.
Once you begin to look for light — and truly see it — you start to find it everywhere. Flecks of light on the wall and the floorboards, a glowing rim on a coffee cup, radiant rose petals on a traffic island, golden ice on a pond, a red fern leaf backlit by the sun.
The more you practice seeing it, the more of it you notice — and it makes each day richer and more beautiful.
I hope that those who view my images can feel these moments — and perhaps, afterward, find themselves hungry to discover them in their own surroundings.
